Simple Groms Pepper the Podium again!

The Simple Snowboarding Grom team was all over the podium at the Alpine Superpipe stop of the Grom Series.  The crew spent a few days learning to ride pipe with Kevin in the Junkyard Mini pipe and Outback Superpipe at Louis before heading over to Alpine.

Coulton Conway takes out the MVP Title at the Vans Big Air Series Ontario Stop!

Simple Snowboarding’s 14 year old Coulton Conway put a lot of the older riders on notice at the Van’s Big Air series at Horseshoe Resort today. Coulton tore up the park with a Cab Cork 5, Back cork 5, Frontside 360 true nose, Front 1 on Switch Back 1 out, Cab 270 and a Back Lip… All done with Coulton’s signature super smooth style.. Congrats Coco!!

CoCo took the following awards along with some extra cash for some other tricks on the jumps:

Coulton Conway picks up his 1st place prizing from the Volcom Crew

Volcom’s Peanut Butter Rail Jam went down on Saturday February 11th at Blue Mountain and it was a great contest with a high level of riding from all who entered. The Simple crew had a strong presence with 9 team members spread over 4 categories. 7 of the 9 made finals and there was a Simple rider on the podium in every category. 2nd annual Beaver Valley Park Brawl

Simple Snowboarding team riders picked up another 8 podiums at the 2nd annual Beaver Valley Park Brawl.  An awesome event with heavy Ontario Snowboard industry support saw riders as young as 6 and as old as 24 turn up to take on Beaver Valley Park’s awesome set-up.  Check the video out below for some of the event highlights and also click Here to see the SBC report on the event.

Natalie Allport earns double podiums at Billabong Flaunt-it and wins Best Trick!

Simple Snowboarding’s Natalie Allport joined fellow Simple Snowboarding team rider Kiersten Higginson for the Billabong Flaunt-It stop at Blue Mountain Ontario.

Natalie finished in 3rd in both the Slopestyle and Rail Jam and also picked up best trick for a Backside 540.  Click Here for the story covering the event..

Groms Rule at the first ever Simple Slopestyle!!

Disney XD's Dropping In and Simple Snowboarding's own Coulton Conway Co-Hosted the event and gave out 2 spots direct to the finals of the Ontario stop of the Canadian Shield Tour...

Ontario’s most lucrative series for young Snowboarders kicked off with the Simple Slopestyle on Sunday the 15th of January 2012.  More than 40 riders turned out to take on the smallest features in the Junkyard park and grab their share of the loot up for grabs from over 37 Industry sponsors!!

Simple Snowboarding’s Mikey Ciccarelli gets a Gold Medal at 2012 Youth Winter Olympics!

Mikey on the middle step of the podium...

15 Year Old Mikey Ciccarelli Blitzed the rest of the field today on his last run in the men’s Slopestyle event at the Youth Winter Olympics.  Finishing with a score of 94.25 out of 100, Mikey was 4 points clear of his closest rival for the event, Ben Ferguson from the USA who won Sundays Halfpipe event.  Simple Snowboarding’s Tyler Nicholson fell on his first run and ended up in 6th place.  Congratulations to both of our team members and also to Simple Snowboarding/Team Canada coach Elliot Catton who brought home 2 Gold Medals in Slopestyle for Canada and had all 4 of his team members in the finals for Halfpipe and Slopestyle!!

 

Mikey Ciccarelli finishes in 4th Place at the first ever Youth Winter Olympics Halfpipe Competition!

Mikey at the top of the 22ft Superpipe in Austria

Huge congratulations to Simple Snowboarding’s Mikey Ciccarelli, who was just shy of the podium at the Youth Winter Olympic Games today in Innsbruck, Austria. Mikey just missed out on a 3rd place by 0.25 with a score of 84.00 out of 100.  Mikey’s second run consisting of a Frontside Air, Backside 900, Frontside air, Backside 540, Frontside 720, Haakonflip, took him into 2nd place… only to be passed during the last few runs of the day by Slovenia’s Tim-Kevin Ravjnak and Japan’s Hiraoka Taku.  Well done Mikey and a HUGE congratulations from all of the Simple Snowboarding family!
