1st, 2nd, 3rd at Canadian Shield in Calgary!

Simple Snowboarding coach Craig Gouweloos took out both the best trick and the Pro mens Win at the Canadian Shield Calgary stop over the past weekend.  Simple Snowboarding team members Mike Rotsaert and Natalie Allport also found themselves on the podium with a 2nd in the Pro Womens for Nat and Mike Joining Craig on the podium for a 3rd place spot.  Craig threw down a Switch back 5 Mute, Backside 900 Stalefish (Taking out best trick), Cab 9 Melon, 5050 Front 3 into the bank, Front blunt 270 out.  Mike threw a Switch back 5, Cork Back 7 Indy, Front 7 Melon, Front Lip Popover, C-wood Shuffle

2nd annual Beaver Valley Park Brawl

Simple Snowboarding team riders picked up another 8 podiums at the 2nd annual Beaver Valley Park Brawl.  An awesome event with heavy Ontario Snowboard industry support saw riders as young as 6 and as old as 24 turn up to take on Beaver Valley Park’s awesome set-up.  Check the video out below for some of the event highlights and also click Here to see the SBC report on the event.

Natalie Allport earns double podiums at Billabong Flaunt-it and wins Best Trick!

Simple Snowboarding’s Natalie Allport joined fellow Simple Snowboarding team rider Kiersten Higginson for the Billabong Flaunt-It stop at Blue Mountain Ontario.

Natalie finished in 3rd in both the Slopestyle and Rail Jam and also picked up best trick for a Backside 540.  Click Here for the story covering the event..

Disney XD's Dropping In and Simple Snowboarding's own Coulton Conway Co-Hosted the event and gave out 2 spots direct to the finals of the Ontario stop of the Canadian Shield Tour...

Ontario’s most lucrative series for young Snowboarders kicked off with the Simple Slopestyle on Sunday the 15th of January 2012.  More than 40 riders turned out to take on the smallest features in the Junkyard park and grab their share of the loot up for grabs from over 37 Industry sponsors!!

Tyler and Mikey share the podium at the Bro-Down

Simple Snowboarding’s Tyler Nicholson and Mikey Ciccarelli along with Irish-Russian transplant Seamus O’Connor put on a clinic in Slopestyle riding at the TTR 4 Star Billabong bro-down junior Slopestyle at Snow Park NZ over the last weekend. The three riders born between 1995-1997 threw down big, technical runs that would have come close to a podium position in the mens event.

After falling in the men’s event and barely missing the finals, the three riders destroyed the course and left the crowd in disbelief with their high level of riding skill.

Simple Snowboarding riders Tyler Nicholson and Mikey Ciccarelli selected to represent Canada at the first ever Youth Winter Olympics!

14 year old Mikey Ciccarelli and 15 year old Tyler Nicholson turned a lot of heads again this season and finished as the top contenders for the 2 available Canadian spots at the 2012 Youth Winter Olympics in Austria!

Tyler will be representing Canada in the Slopestyle event and Mikey will be representing in the Halfpipe.  With an impressive season of results and achievements including the youngest competitor in the semi-finals at the Burton Canadian Open and 2nd place in the Mt. St. Louis-Moonstone You Look Good Pro Slopestyle along with many other impressive results this year, Tyler was the clear front-runner for the slopestyle position.  Mikey has continued to build on his 5th place finish in the Halfpipe at the 2010 Canada Snowboard Nationals with solid performances at halfpipe events with the youngest Canadian berth in the Burton Canadian Open Halfpipe Semi-Finals.  Mikey Currently sits in 2nd place in the TTR Canadian Halfpipe Rankings.

3 More Podiums at the Horseshoe Open Rail Jam and Slopestyle

Tyler Nicholson, Mikey Ciccarelli and Coach Kevin Scriver all stood on the podium after the Horseshoe Open Slopestyle and Rail Jams over the weekend.  After an extremely hectic rail jam Tyler Nicholson took the top spot with a variety of different moves on the down rail, giant picnic-table style flat box and a gap cab 270 to front board normal out on the Down (more…)
