Mikey’s Set-up:
I ride the RIDE KINK 147 simply due to the fact that it has the edge control and pop of a traditional camber board with the flex of a rocker. This allows me to haul ass into big jumps and grease the rails and boxes. This unique shape is called pro rise. Pro rise has a 0 camber zone across the base with an added kick at the nose and tail of the board. This gives the board a unique feel which is UNREAL! The kink also features Slime Walls. Slime Walls replace the traditional AVS sidewall. They are made out of a synthetic rubber that will dampen the vibrations that will occur during high speed run-ins. Also when the side wall is impacted a traditional AVS sidewall will snap and stick out where as the Slime Walls will just absorb the impact and leave minimal damage. Which is awesome because we all know what urban riding does to your board. Clearly, RIDE knows what’s up!
The bindings that I am riding now are the DELTA MVMT. They are made with the Movement chassis system which is made out of 50% recycled light weight aluminum. These bindings are made with aluminum for a reason! They outlast the competitor’s product because aluminum is much more durable then plastic but still offers the same flex and feel. The deltas have the new stealth high back which is designed for lightweight freestyle performance. The larger flat-back shaping is built with thinner construction to maximize side-to-side flex. The straps feel like no other. The ankle strap pulls your boot back into the binding to make a comfortable and secure fit. The toe straps are made of a rubber netting that moulds to your boot so well you’ll never want to use any other straps ever again. The foot beds in the DELTA Bindings have the 2.5 Wedgie system, which means that the foot beds are tilted slightly inwards to make a more comfortable feel with wider stances. Basically what I’m trying to say here is that ride makes a very comfortable binding that performs very well with whatever style of riding that you can throw at them. Once again RIDE knows what’s up!
