Programs:
Simple Snowboarding operates a 45 day in season Freestyle Program and a 25 day Program. We train at Louis on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, along with Christmas and March Break training dates. Our Programs are designed to ensure that you get the most out of the coaching and also get enough time on snow to build physical awareness, balance and co-ordination. We travel to many competitions within Ontario for our lower end team members and also travel internationally to high-end events for the best riders on our team. When you become a Simple team member you will realize a lot of the internal benefits that come with joining our program; such as, new found friendships, knowledge on how to properly prepare for your snowboard season to maximize your progression and minimize injuries, programs to help you learn about the snowboard industry and ways of receiving discounts on snowboard gear, building valuable life skills that will help you in any future career path, and much more.
A large focal point for Simple is teaching our team members how to train for competition, however if competing is not for you we still have plenty of useful skills to teach you. Our coaches can help improve your technique and style, as well as help you add a lot of new tricks to your repertoire. If it’s filming or shooting photo’s your interested in, taking your skills from the park to the streets, or looking to get into the backcountry in the future, Simple Snowboarding has the means to provide you with the skills and knowledge to accomplish your goals.
Training facilities:
The Simple Snowboarding team trains out of Mount St. Louis/Moonstone. No other resort in Ontario comes close to providing the pristine terrain that Louis provides on a daily basis. This is why Mount St. Louis/Moonstone were voted number 3 for Park and Number 2 for Pipe on the East Coast of North America in Transworld Snowboarding 2010 and 2011 Resort Survey’s. Louis is committed to their terrain park and always has freestyle terrain open early in the season. With two parks and Superpipes to choose from, as well as the new addition of the BagJump, a friendly community and a dedicated Park Staff, Louis caters to all ability levels, allowing us to breed high end snowboarders.
The Junkyard terrain park is based over on the Louis side. The Junkyard is a well constructed and maintained beginner/intermediate terrain park with a variety of boxes, rails, jumps and a smaller pipe cut with the 18ft Zaugg pipe shaper. The junkyard is a great place to build skills and polish your rail riding before stepping up to the Outback and the bigger features.
The Outback terrain park contains numerous rails, jumps and bigger features designed for advanced snowboarders. There is also an 18ft Superpipe cut with an 18ft Zaugg Superpipe shaper. The Outback also has it’s own dedicated 4 person chairlift lapping right next to the Jump and Rail lines so that you can check out all the action on the ride up and then show everyone your skills on the way back down.
BagJump Training:
All Simple Snowboarding team members will have the chance to get access to BagJump training. What is a BagJump? Imagine the possibility of learning new tricks or perfecting current tricks without the risk of serious injury involved with falling on hard, icy snow. BagJump now makes this all possible thanks to their giant inflatable cushion of air. You can train for straight jumps, Halfpipes and Quarterpipes with a BagJump. New team members can quickly learn to trust the Simple coaches advice by using the BagJump. You can listen and initiate the techniques being taught without worrying about your landing- you’ll be surprised how easy some tricks become when you learn our secrets! Mt. St. Louis/Moonstone has the first BagJump in Ontario, this will add to the already award winning terrain park and help to ensure that 2011-2012 with Simple Snowboarding will be your most progressive, fun season ever!

The BagJump set up at Moonstone- a small take off, big take off, and a halfpipe hit to try your new tricks in a safe environment
Competitions:
Simple Snowboarding team members compete in everything from small local events, all the way up to World Championship level. Team members have the chance to measure up against the field and work towards goals on a number of different levels. If you are competing in your first event, chasing an Olympic Medal or a World Title, we can equip you with the tools you need to set yourself apart and pursue your goals.

Simple Team members Kieth Brouillette and Tyler Nicholson take 1st and 3rd respectively at the Craigleith AOS Slopestyle
Competition Results:
Results speak for themselves…
Simple Snowboarding dominated the Ontario Snowboard scene last winter with the majority of our team members finishing on the podium, more than once in most cases! The finals were over run with Simple team members at every Ontario event we turned up to, resulting in more than 60 podium finishes- 28 of those being firsts! With a Gold Medal at the Canada Winter Games as well as the only 2 male snowboarders selected to represent Canada at the 2012 Youth Winter Olympic Games held in Austria, we have proved beyond a doubt that we know how to develop natural talent and also install competitive advantages in all of our team members.
Travel:
Simple Snowboarding team members have the chance to travel all over the World to pursue their love of Snowboarding. Pre and post- Season trips to brush up and polish your skills in different environments, off-season trips to summer camps and/or New Zealand, as well as in-season trips to competitions. All these add up to a lot of traveling for those who choose to come along for the ride; gaining experiences and memories you don’t find here at home. Traveling with Simple adds a whole new dimension to our Program, our Coaches are role models to our team members and the lessons and skills that are learned through living and traveling with the team are of lifelong value. Simple Snowboarding builds and plans out our trips to make sure you have a great time and make the most of the Snowboarding available.
Simple Coaches:
All of our Coaches are certified, sponsored, high level snowboarders who can do most of the tricks they are teaching you and have a huge combined level of experience in the industry. When you combine the time spent on snow by our coaches you are looking at 50+ years of experience in a rapidly changing sport. The tens of thousands of hours of information and techniques they learned along the way will make everything a lot easier and also help you to avoid continually making mistakes, or wasting time doing things the wrong way. They can teach you everything from how to do your first front board, to switch backside rodeo 720’s, all the way up to double corks and beyond. Our coaches also love what they are doing and have a personal interest in your Snowboarding. They’re not just here to ride for themselves; they are here to ride for you and with you to help you get the best out of Snowboarding. Some of our coaches have come through our program, so they know what they are passing on to works from first-hand experience.
